Make a Difference

Over the years, we have utilized different activities and campaigns to raise funds to support our mission of turning a tragedy into something positive.

We have organized blood drives, launched online giving campaigns, organized an annual Leighton’s Ride, and participated in North Texas Giving Day and giving tuesday.

Like so many other nonprofits, the pandemic has allowed us to reassess the best way to raise funds to support our mission while keeping costs down. Our annual Leighton’s Ride was a great event; however, tremendous amounts of time and resources were required to make it successful.

By redirecting our fundraising efforts towards North Texas Giving Day — the largest community giving event in the nation — we’re able to meet our fundraising goals with minimal associated costs.

Communities Foundation of Texas’ NTX Giving Day is an 18-hour online giving event designed to empower every person to give back to their community by supporting local nonprofits and causes they care about in one easy-to-use platform.

The event helps build awareness and support for nonprofits like nothing else. In 2022, $62.6 million was raised through 94,385 donors benefiting 3,210 local nonprofits, bringing the fourteen-year total to over $503 million for our community. NTX Giving Day is the largest community-wide giving event in the nation.

LEIGHTON’S RIDE

Leighton’s Ride is an annual motorcycle ride and fundraising event. Attendees enjoy food, live music, vendors, and of course, plenty of motorcycles.

The Ride is for all motorcycle riders and covers approximately 75 - 100 miles.

Don’t ride; no problem!

The Party is for everyone and includes great food, live music, raffle, and shopping with local vendors.
